The sunsets at Radhanagar from the northern rocky section are worth planning your day around.

Neil Island (Shaheed Dweep) is quieter and slower-paced. Natural Bridge rock formation, Laxmanpur Beach with minimal crowds, Bharatpur Beach with calm shallow snorkeling. Good for families with young children or elders who want beach access without exertion. After Havelock's activities, Neil resets the pace completely.

What Kozhikode Travelers Should Know

You know the Arabian Sea already. You have grown up with it. What will strike you in Andaman is not the concept of ocean but the specific quality of this ocean. The Bay of Bengal at Andaman is clear in a way the Arabian Sea off Kozhikode is not. You will see the bottom at fifteen feet depth. The color is different, layers of turquoise and blue. The coral reefs are accessible directly from beaches.

This is not a criticism of Kozhikode's coast. It is just a different ecosystem. The Arabian Sea off Kerala is productive fishing water with river sediment and natural turbidity. Andaman's reef-protected bays have different conditions. Both are ocean, but different expressions of it.

The food will not be Malabar cuisine. Accept that going in and the trip becomes easier. Fresh seafood quality is excellent but prepared differently. South Indian and North Indian veg options are standard. Halal food requires advance arrangement but is manageable. Carry some familiar snacks from home for comfort food moments.

Humidity in Andaman is high year-round but the sea breeze is persistent and you are in the water constantly. Most Kozhikode travelers find it manageable because Kerala itself is humid. Not a major adjustment.

Ferries between islands take 1.5 to 3 hours depending on the crossing. October to March, seas are generally calm. Carry Avomine if you are prone to motion sickness but most people manage fine. The ferry ride is part of the island experience, not an obstacle.
